The National Horseracing Museum is gearing up to the school summer holidays with a whole host of free creative, drop-in sessions. Running every Wednesday and Friday, from 11am to 3pm, activities include printmaking, stenciling, t-shirt printing, pasta making and much more!
Why not make a day of it? Take in the interactive displays around the museum, have a ride on the racehorse simulator and meet the new museum minis, Kizzy and Harry – our resident Shetland Ponies.
You can see more Shetland Ponies on Saturday 17th August when we welcome back JPL Racing and Events. Witness the high-speed blur of colour as the Shetland ponies and their young jockeys compete over a mini steeplechase course in the arena. Come and watch the fun and cheer on your favourite.
Then on Saturday 21st September, as part of Newmarket’s annual Henry Cecil Open Weekend, the museum welcomes Jack Brock – the celebrity, miniature Shetland with his owner Ali Stearn for story time. Inspired by Jack and Ali’s visits to local care homes, listen to their brand-new book with the opportunity to meet Jack himself afterwards.
There is so much to see and do for the whole family across the Museum’s five-acre site this summer.
